About Allies Of Skin
Founded in 2016 by Nicolas Travis following his recovery from severe facial injuries, Allies of Skin is dedicated to creating highly effective skincare products that promote continual skin repair and improvement at any life stage or skin concern. Their multifunctional formulations utilize "supercharged clinicals," which means maximized concentrations of clinically proven active ingredients for accelerated results. Each product is designed to harness the skin's natural regenerative abilities to maintain optimal health well beyond conventional limits.
Position Overview
We are looking for a visionary and commercially savvy Associate Vice President of Global Brand Marketing to guide the strategic growth and brand evolution at Allies Of Skin. This senior leadership role entails shaping how the brand is expressed across all consumer interactions — including brand positioning, product launches, integrated campaigns, retail narratives, and consumer engagement initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will champion the brand narrative by working collaboratively across Product Development, Creative, Digital, Sales, Education, PR, Retail, and Operations teams, ensuring every campaign and launch embodies the brand’s standards and supports measurable growth.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the trajectory of a burgeoning luxury beauty company at the nexus of scientific innovation and premium consumer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Define and continuously refine global brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and long-term marketing strategies.
- Maintain brand consistency across all consumer-facing platforms, including digital channels, retail environments, social media, education programs, experiential marketing, and strategic partnerships.
- Promote a luxurious brand experience while staying relevant to modern beauty culture.
- Collaborate with Creative teams to ensure alignment of visual and verbal brand storytelling.
- Oversee strategic planning and commercialization of product launches from concept to market introduction.
- Transform scientific and formulation innovations into persuasive consumer communications.
- Develop product positioning, naming conventions, claims, messaging hierarchies, launch kits, and comprehensive go-to-market strategies.
- Engage with Product Development and R&D teams to identify white space opportunities and innovation pipelines.
- Manage pricing strategies, perform competitive analyses, and recommend optimal market positioning.
- Craft integrated 360-degree marketing campaigns spanning earned, owned, paid, retail, influencer, experiential, and e-commerce channels.
- Lead launch calendars and ensure cross-departmental operational alignment.
- Build scalable marketing systems integrating brand storytelling with commercial objectives.
- Spot opportunities for cultural relevance, collaborations, partnerships, and enhanced consumer engagement.
- Analyze luxury beauty consumer insights using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Track and evaluate market trends, competitor activities, and emerging consumer patterns.
- Convert consumer insights into actionable business, brand, and product strategies.
- Establish key performance indicators and reporting structures to monitor brand health, campaign success, and launch effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of marketing professionals to foster accountability, development, and excellence.
- Encourage collaboration across Creative, Product Development, Sales, Digital, PR, Education, and Executive teams.
- Implement clear processes for launch planning, integrated campaign execution, and decision-making.
- Manage external agency partnerships, strategic vendors, and departmental marketing budgets.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in progressive brand and product marketing roles, preferably within prestige or luxury beauty, skincare, wellness, or consumer lifestyle sectors.
- Proven track record in formulating and executing integrated marketing strategies and successfully commercializing premium products.
- Comprehensive understanding of luxury consumer behaviors and trends within the beauty industry.
- Experience launching influential products that build lasting brand equity.
- Exceptional strategic thinking abilities, with strong storytelling and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing marketing teams.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments.
- Balance between creative vision and data-driven commercial decision-making.
- Capable of handling essential job functions independently, with or without accommodations.
- Highly self-motivated with strong prioritization, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Background
- Experience specifically in luxury skincare or prestige beauty brands is highly desirable.
- Familiarity working directly with founders and executive leadership teams.
- Knowledge of ingredient-focused marketing, clinical claims, and scientific storytelling.
- Experience in global brand management or international markets is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $185,000 to $210,000 (Los Angeles, CA)
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
- Flexible working conditions including hybrid options
- Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and an additional paid day off on your birthday
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- Exclusive product discounts for employees
