Team and Role Overview

The Parts & Accessories (P&A) business is a large, multi-billion-dollar GMV segment that has been a major contributor to eBay’s success and remains central to its future strategy. The US P&A organization is hiring an Associate for Strategy and Operations in San Jose, CA, reporting to the Head of US P&A Strategy & Operations.

This function is responsible for developing, owning, and delivering central initiatives, providing insight into complex and ambiguous business questions, and coordinating business review cycles. In this role, you will help lead important strategic efforts, support execution with internal partners, and strengthen operational excellence across planning, analytics, reporting, project management, and cross-functional coordination.

The role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will be expected to structure difficult problems, work comfortably in uncertainty, use data effectively, and move quickly as an embedded operator. Success in this position also depends on adaptability, openness to feedback, and a strong commitment to continuous learning.

What You Will Do

• Spot and pursue new strategic opportunities within US P&A that require careful evaluation.
• Keep major initiatives moving by tracking milestones and delivery progress.
• Introduce consistent processes and stronger alignment across the US P&A business and its partners.
• Design guardrails and operating processes that support smooth execution.
• Prepare senior-leadership-ready presentations covering strategic initiatives and business updates.
• Perform ad hoc analysis for key business questions using SQL and internal or external research.
• Review and summarize business performance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align US P&A efforts with other eBay verticals, teams, and global programs.

What You Need to Bring

• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving ability, with skill in extracting insights, researching, and building clear narratives.
• A high sense of accountability and drive to deliver results independently.
• Excellent speaking and writing skills.
• Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and present data visually and clearly.
• Experience creating business cases and financial or operational models using PowerPoint and Excel.
• A structured, detail-conscious approach that still keeps pace and efficiency in mind.
• Comfort working in a small, agile, high-impact team.
• Solid project management skills and a demonstrated ability to partner across functions.
• Ambition to grow, willingness to work hard, and openness to learning and giving feedback.

Requirements

• A BA or BS degree is required.
• At least 1–3+ years of professional experience is needed; preferably 1+ years in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, business operations at a technology company, or another analytical role at a large corporation.
• Background in consumer goods, retail, ecommerce, or consumer technology is preferred.
• SQL skills are preferred.
• Exposure to or interest in Motors is a plus, though not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $89,200 to $119,100 per year.

Actual pay may differ based on factors such as location, skills, and experience. The overall compensation package may also include a target bonus, restricted stock units where applicable, and benefits such as medical coverage, financial benefits, 401(k) eligibility, paid time off, and parental leave.

This is an at-will role, and the company may change base salary or other discretionary compensation programs at any time due to individual performance, team performance, company performance, or market conditions.
