Job description
Role overview
This position involves carrying out investigations into breaches of the Road Traffic Act, Active Mobility Act, Electric Vehicles Charging Act, and the related subsidiary legislation. The objective is to ensure enforcement action is taken promptly and fairly against offenders.
Core responsibilities
- Interview individuals linked to cases to collect relevant facts and supporting information.
- Carry out site inspections, field checks, and system reviews to obtain and secure evidence.
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to build the evidence base and keep investigations moving smoothly.
- Draft appropriate court charges, summonses, Notices of Traffic Offence, or Notices of Offence after investigation completion and approval by team leaders or senior officers.
- Prepare investigation files and arrange for witness subpoenas for court hearings when required by the prosecutor.
- Attend court proceedings to present testimony and evidence during trials.
- Partner with process or policy owners to review existing workflows, implement relevant initiatives, and adapt solutions to operational needs.
- Contribute to project-based work that improves investigative processes or supports other areas tied to the organisation’s mission.
- Assist senior officers leading assigned projects by helping gather requirements, analysing data, drafting or reviewing documents, testing systems, preparing reports, and creating presentations.

- Well-developed organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, outcome-focused, and able to spot opportunities and see projects through to completion.
