Job description
Role Overview
The position of Deputy / Assistant Safety & Health Manager at the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore focuses on ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety within LTA's Construction Projects. The role involves providing expert advice on occupational safety and health, actively driving initiatives aimed at achieving a Zero Accident target.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive safety audits, inspections, and enforcement activities on construction sites.
- Organizing and delivering corporate safety training programs and hosting promotional events such as safety forums and corporate retreats focused on safety health awareness.
- Participating in Project Safety Reviews aligned with Design for Safety standards.
- Contributing safety and health related articles for internal publications to enhance knowledge dissemination.
- Developing new corporate safety initiatives driven by data analytics derived from historical near miss, incident, and accident records.
- Carrying out research to stay abreast of emerging developments in Safety and Health as well as new technological advancements in construction.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A background in Science or Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years certified experience in construction safety, ideally involving mega or large-scale construction projects, with registration as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer preferred.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates without registration as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer must attend the WSQ Specialist Diploma Workplace Safety & Health (Level C).
- Familiarity with data analytics and programming languages is advantageous.
