Job Summary

The role carries primary accountability for budgeting, forecasting, and business planning across the Group’s domestic and international operations. It involves reviewing performance, applying advanced budgeting and forecasting tools, and supporting management with accurate planning insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budgeting cycle for all Group divisions and departments, while helping maintain consistent planning, budgeting, review, and budget-control practices across the organization.
  • Prepare and present management and Board-level MIS reports on time so business results can be monitored and corrective action can be taken promptly.
  • Apply KPI frameworks and best practices relevant to the Assistant Vice President role in Financial Budgeting and Business Planning.
  • Encourage cost awareness, operational efficiency, and productivity improvements to reduce waste and maximize value for the bank.
  • Work with division, department, and unit heads to carry out the budgeting exercise and analyze significant variances against plan.
  • Build productive working relationships across internal departments and units to help achieve Group objectives.
  • Coordinate with the IT Department so that budget-reporting requirements are addressed quickly, including any system changes needed.
  • Handle internal customer queries related to bank products and help guide them toward suitable solutions.
  • Maintain service levels with internal departments and units and help improve turnaround times.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external auditors, as well as the Compliance function, whenever requested.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for domestic and international business lines and oversee the procedures that support budgetary control.
  • Design, improve, and maintain budgeting and forecasting tools and methods for the Group.
  • Ensure financial control policies and procedures are followed consistently.
  • Work with relevant departments and IT to resolve inconsistencies and errors in outputs or systems.
  • Identify needs for updates to the budgeting system and related processes.
  • Own the development of the Group’s budget policy, framework, and budget templates.
  • Improve budget-monitoring forms and structures to ensure the control process is complete and accurate.
  • Supervise and train team members to support efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strengthen team capability through training so the MIS remains useful, timely, and informative.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards to protect sensitive commercial information.
  • Follow all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including Group policies on AML/CTF, sanctions, data protection, fraud control, whistleblowing, conflicts of interest, and insider dealing.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English; Arabic is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting practices and accounting standards such as IFRS and IAS.
  • Hands-on proficiency with budgeting tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and people skills.
  • Capability to perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to form effective relationships across the organization and drive results.
