Overview

Offices-to-go is seeking an experienced Assistant Human Resources Officer to serve as a GS-0201-15 level professional based in Washington, DC. The incumbent will oversee HR specialists and support personnel, managing daily operations and strategic HR initiatives to enhance service quality and workforce development within the division.

Key Duties

  • Supervise and manage HR specialists and support staff by delegating tasks, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and addressing any staffing or training issues. Provide mentoring and development opportunities to strengthen team capabilities and ensure exceptional HR service delivery.
  • Lead accountability and quality assurance measures across the HR Division by developing common procedures and internal controls that promote consistency, efficiency, and adherence to regulations.
  • Conduct thorough audits and reviews of HR programs and personnel actions to identify risks and areas for improvement, recommending corrective measures and establishing performance indicators to assess service impact.
  • Direct staff development initiatives including training programs, mentoring, and career advancement activities. Design competency frameworks and deliver training across multiple HR functions.
  • Recognize skill deficiencies within the HR workforce and formulate succession planning and capability-building strategies to ensure long-term organizational strength.
  • Steer employee and leadership development programs tailored for attorneys, paralegals, supervisors, and managers, incorporating onboarding and leadership training in blended learning formats while assessing program effectiveness.
  • Support HR strategic planning and continuous organizational improvement through workforce analyses, capability gap identification, and actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in special projects providing data-driven reports and visual dashboards to senior leadership for decision-making support.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals.
  • Completion of a suitability review and possibly a one-year probationary period are mandatory.
  • Selective Service registration is necessary for males born on or after December 31, 1959, unless exempted.
  • The position requires supervisory or managerial responsibilities with a probationary period unless waiver conditions apply.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience at the federal GS-14 level or equivalent involving leadership or management of HR programs, process improvement, advising senior leaders, and supervising HR teams.
  • Experience examples include leading HR program improvements, creating employee development programs, and managing large-scale HR initiatives.
