Convert brand strategy and seasonal briefs into clear visual directions, from mood boards and frameworks through final delivery. Present creative concepts to leadership with a strong narrative and ensure the work supports both brand growth and commercial goals.

Packaging, Collateral, and Print

Retail, Stores, and Events

Work with retail and marketing teams on creative for new Mountain Studio store openings, in-store brand experiences, and events. Shape cohesive physical storytelling through signage, fixtures, graphics, and experiential touchpoints.

Video and Motion

Create storyboards and visual treatments for video and motion content that support campaign ideas. Collaborate with production partners and internal teams to ensure the final output stays on-brand and on brief.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership

Partner with Brand Marketing, Digital, E-commerce, Product, and Retail teams to keep creative consistent across channels. Contribute to briefs, reviews, and feedback cycles with a high standard for craft. Mentor internal designers, guide senior designers, and direct freelancers, outside designers, and other creative partners when needed.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate brings at least 7 years of experience in art direction or graphic design and a portfolio that includes brand campaigns, identity work, and digital creative. Prior experience with a consumer brand in outdoor, apparel, activewear, lifestyle, or a related category is important.

This role requires strong visual judgment, the ability to lead lifestyle photo and video productions in fast-paced on-location settings, and a proven track record of carrying campaigns from concept through final delivery. The candidate should be comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, have a strong grasp of how copy and visuals work together, and know how to build storyboards and motion treatments.

Deep knowledge of typography, layout, photography, design systems, and multichannel brand expression is essential. The role also calls for a collaborative mentorship style, solid direction-giving skills, and fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Familiarity with emerging AI creative tools is expected. The person should be highly organized, self-directed, and genuinely connected to mountain culture and the brand’s values.

Working Conditions and Travel

This position requires spending about 75% of the workday in a stationary position. Travel may be required for 4 to 6 weeks per year.

The base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $100,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications, and it is not expected that a new hire would typically start at the top of the range. The overall package also includes base pay, incentives, and benefits.
