Overview
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales performance of various Lines of Business by guiding a team of Sales Consultants within a designated region.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive sales targets, including sales revenue and profitability for the assigned unit.
- Implement the Business Development Manager’s strategic plans through concrete and measurable action steps.
- Ensure pricing and product offerings by the team contribute to profitable outcomes.
- Consistently achieve Key Performance Indicators stipulated by the Business Development Manager.
- Develop new sales channels and opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Advise on tactical marketing initiatives tailored to the local area.
- Utilize social networks effectively to engage potential customers through social selling techniques.
- Establish and maintain efficient lead management and follow-up processes.
- Enhance team capabilities by providing ongoing coaching, training, and support during field activities.
- Monitor individual and team performance through KPI assessment and take proactive steps for improvement as needed.
- Occasionally participate in direct selling activities on behalf of the team.
- Create and manage sales programs for assigned accounts including offers and bundled solutions to maximize sales.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with key client decision makers ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Promote up-selling and cross-selling within the existing customer base.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on account profitability, market trends, competitive analysis, and conduct SWOT analyses for the territory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in marketing, sales, or business development roles.
- Proven excellence in sales techniques and negotiation prowess.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
