Hygiene Technician - Porirua and Wellington Area

About the Role

Rentokil Initial is seeking a proactive and self-driven Hygiene Technician to join our operations team servicing Wellington, Porirua, and surrounding locations. This position involves hands-on hygiene and cleaning services delivered primarily in the field. Ideal for individuals who thrive on diverse daily tasks, work independently, and enjoy engaging with customers directly.

This is a Monday to Friday role, with provided company vehicle and fuel card to assist with daily travel requirements.

Key Duties

• Efficiently load and unload the service vehicle to manage daily task completion.
• Carry out cleaning duties for washrooms and public toilets in line with job instructions and client guidelines.
• Maintain hygiene supplies such as toilet paper, soaps, sanitary bins, air fresheners, and dispensers.
• Identify and address hygiene-related risks and concerns to improve client environments.
• Complete thorough service documentation reports post-service delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism.
• Monitor client needs and proactively seek ways to upgrade service quality.

Candidate Profile

• Legal eligibility for full-time permanent employment in New Zealand.
• Possess a full and clean driver’s license along with a clean criminal record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.
• Physically well to meet job demands, with a focus on health and safety.
• Self-motivated with strong organization and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards.
• Comfortable with mobile technology and apps for work management.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays if required.
• Prior experience in cleaning or hygiene roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
