Role Overview

As an Architectural Draftsperson at W3Global, based in Fortitude Valley, Queensland, you will be pivotal in converting architectural ideas into precise technical drawings. These detailed documents will serve as the backbone for construction and project realization. You will ensure all drawings adhere strictly to relevant building codes and Australian standards, while clearly conveying the architect’s intent to builders and stakeholders.

Key Duties

  • Develop intricate architectural drawings utilizing CAD software and professional design tools.
  • Express architectural sketches and design ideas as accurate, technical documents.
  • Guarantee compliance of all drawings with Australian Building Standards and regulatory codes.
  • Revise and update drawings following feedback from project collaborators.
  • Collaborate with architects and design teams to solve technical and spatial challenges.
  • Maintain uniformity across all project drawings through adherence to established conventions and documentation practices.
  • Compile drawing packages for tenders, development approvals, and construction phases.
  • Support the development of 3D models and visual representations as needed.
  • Organize and manage drawing files and maintain comprehensive project documentation systems.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven expertise in architectural CAD software, especially Archicad.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian architectural drawing standards, building codes, and construction methods.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in architectural drafting or a closely related field.
  • Exceptional precision and detail orientation in technical drawing.
  • Capable of working autonomously while contributing constructively to team projects.
  • Strong communication abilities to effectively translate complex architectural concepts into technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and an understanding of project management platforms.
  • Analytical problem solver adept at identifying and addressing drawing-related challenges.
  • Experience or knowledge in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and BIM-related projects is beneficial.
  • Completion of a tertiary qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a comparable discipline.
