AI Researcher - AI Architecture Research

Role Overview

We are supporting a partner company based in Ireland seeking an AI Researcher specializing in AI Architecture. Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, create, and assess new AI model architectures that go beyond traditional Transformer frameworks.
• Develop methods to enhance model scalability, computational cost-effectiveness, stable training, and efficient inference.
• Build prototypes of innovative architectures and validate their performance with thorough experiments, benchmarking, and ablation analysis.
• Write and co-author high-quality research publications for premier AI and machine learning conferences and journals.
• Work hand-in-hand with engineering teams to convert research innovations into deployable production systems for training and inference.
• Stay updated on the latest AI research breakthroughs and identify promising future research avenues.
• Shape long-term research plans and contribute to evolving next-generation AI model designs.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive academic or industrial experience in machine learning research focused on AI model architectures.
• Proven publication credentials in prestigious AI/ML platforms such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, COLM, ACL, EMNLP, or arXiv.
• Deep expertise in neural network structures, sequence modeling, attention mechanisms, optimization, and training processes.
• Practical experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
• Strong capability to design rigorous experiments, perform critical data analysis, and effectively communicate research outcomes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented startup culture with a strong sense of ownership.
• Experience with alternative architectures beyond Transformers, including long-context models, state-space models, hybrids, or memory-efficient systems is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with advanced training methods, inference optimizations, open-source contributions, or production AI pipelines is a plus.
