Job description

Role overview

Canva is looking for an AI Enablement Partner within its HR Tech function to help reshape how the People team works through AI, automation, and smart integrations. This role sits at the crossroads of people operations, technology, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on reducing repetitive work, improving self-service, and enabling faster, better decisions.

This is a hands-on builder position rather than a conventional support role. You will design and scale automations, experiment with AI copilots and agents, and work across platforms to connect systems throughout the people technology ecosystem. You will also collaborate closely with teams across People to understand day-to-day needs and co-create solutions that are practical, usable, and scalable.

Work location and setup

The position is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Canva’s Sydney campus in Surry Hills serves as the main workplace, and the company uses a hybrid model that allows remote work alongside in-person collaboration when it adds value. The role is intended for someone who lives in Sydney.

Key focus areas

  • Build automations that eliminate repetitive tasks across the People technology stack.
  • Create AI-driven tools such as copilots, agents, and intelligent workflows to strengthen self-service and support.
  • Partner with IT to integrate systems such as Workday, SmartRecruiters, and CultureAmp in a scalable way.
  • Use automation and validation flows to keep data clean, structured, and ready for analysis.
  • Support the PSA team by troubleshooting issues and extending capacity where needed.
  • Improve the reliability, performance, and return on investment of automations across the ecosystem.
  • Act as temporary backup for other HR Systems Analyst responsibilities during busy periods.

What the team does

Canva’s People team aims to build one of the most effective and engaged companies in the world. To support every group across the business, the team relies on strong People Technology that can scale globally. The People Tech group exists to make systems do more than simply support growth—they are meant to create smarter, faster, and more confident ways of working. AI and automation are central to turning manual processes into intelligent systems that give people more time to focus on meaningful work.

Candidate profile

The ideal person has already delivered production-ready automations and is comfortable working with low-code tools and AI-based workflows. Experience in HR Tech is valuable, though Canva is also open to strong builders from adjacent fields who are eager to learn the people domain. The role also calls for strong communication, a systems mindset, good data judgement, and the ability to drive adoption through enablement and training.

Additional information

Hiring decisions are made based on experience, skills, passion, and the ability to contribute to Canva’s culture. Applicants are asked to share their pronouns and any reasonable adjustments needed during the interview process. Canva welcomes candidates from all backgrounds, even if they do not meet every listed preference. Interviews are conducted virtually.
