Overview
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant IV to join the Human Resources Department within the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. This role involves providing high-level administrative support primarily to the Director of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding and supporting the broader HR team. The position requires independent operation in managing complex inquiries and coordination with various administrative and managerial staff, as well as serving as a conduit for communication and information escalation to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the HR Director and staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and appointment planning relevant to recruitment and onboarding functions.
- Act as a liaison between the HR department and other organizational units, ensuring effective communication and information flow.
- Manage confidential requests, conduct research, prepare reports, and perform clerical tasks such as visitor reception, conference call arrangements, and purchasing activities.
- Support and facilitate Workday recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Serve as a gatekeeper for the Director’s office, prioritizing and escalating pertinent information appropriately.
Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least four years of progressively responsible administrative experience involving support to professional staff and management, secretarial duties, communication coordination, supervision, and research, OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III within Nevada State service, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience includes working in a human resources environment, familiarity with Workday HCM systems (including hiring, onboarding, and reporting), exposure to academic healthcare, and experience within higher education institutions.
Compensation & Benefits
The position is classified under Grade 29 Step 1 with an annual salary of $50,153.76.
