Job description
Position Overview
Reef Group is looking for a meticulous and well-organized Accounts Receivable Accountant to oversee and manage financial collections from its customers and multiple branches. This position ensures the precise and timely posting of daily collections, account reconciliations, and detailed reporting of receivables, which supports effective cash flow management and enhances the handling of the company’s receivables.
Key Duties
- Accurately receive and log daily financial collections from customers and branches within the accounting system promptly.
- Verify cash, electronic payments, and bank transfers to ensure correct recording in the accounts.
- Continuously monitor customer account balances to confirm consistency with issued invoices, contracts, and internal financial guidelines.
- Carry out frequent reconciliations of customer accounts, pinpoint discrepancies, analyze their causes, and implement resolutions.
- Generate comprehensive periodic reports on accounts receivable status, including aging analyses, and deliver insights to management.
- Engage with branch offices, operational teams, and sales departments to address and resolve collection or invoicing issues.
- Prepare daily accounting entries for all collections ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
- Assist with month-end closing activities by compiling collection data and reconciliation summaries.
- Track and reconcile bank deposit notifications against recorded collections.
- Identify opportunities to refine collection methods and document processes to ensure high-quality financial data.
- Comply strictly with company financial controls and policies concerning accounts receivable activities.
- Provide support to management in analyzing cash collections and cash flow reporting.
- Perform additional accounting tasks related to accounts receivable as directed by management.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the direct manager or their delegate.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Between zero to two years of relevant experience in accounts receivable management or financial operations.
