About the Role
As part of the HR Operations team at a global leader in sustainable transportation solutions, you will play an essential part in ensuring precise and timely payroll services across Australia and New Zealand operations. Located in Dandenong, this role reports directly to the Payroll and Time & Attendance Manager and involves close collaboration with HR, finance, external partners, and regulatory authorities. The position requires expertise in complex payroll systems and a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve payroll inquiries according to established service level agreements, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Oversee and refine external interfaces with benefits providers, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
- Validate data entries and payroll calculations, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
- Guide and advise colleagues on payroll processes, actively promoting information sharing across the team.
- Keep payroll procedures and documentation up to date, reflecting current policies and legal requirements.
- Initiate and manage change requests to adapt payroll processes as business needs evolve.
- Identify potential processing challenges, propose improvements, and implement effective solutions.
- Support company audits and compliance checks, maintaining adherence to all relevant payroll and superannuation legislation.
- Contribute to the accuracy and timely delivery of all payroll cycles.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience processing payroll for large organisations (over 1,000 employees).
- Hands-on expertise with SAP payroll systems, particularly SAP Globalview.
- Exposure to payroll environments governed by Enterprise Bargaining Agreements preferred.
- Understanding of payroll processes within manufacturing or industrial sectors considered an advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and thorough knowledge of Australian payroll regulations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and ownership.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills suitable for business-wide interactions.
