Accounting Operations Contractor - 6 Month Remote Position (US)

Position Overview

Hopper is seeking a dedicated Accounting Operations Contractor for a six-month fully remote assignment, with the possibility of extension. This role is pivotal in managing the complete monthly partner billing cycle independently and supporting broader financial operations. The ideal candidate thrives on managing processes autonomously and efficiently without extensive oversight.

Key Duties

• Execute the entire monthly partner billing cycle, including collecting partner-specific details, generating reports using available tools, facilitating internal review, approval, and closure.
• Handle communication with partners by reviewing and dispatching billing emails and addressing partner inquiries directly.
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies independently; escalate complex issues with thorough documentation.
• Create, distribute, and monitor partner invoices within NetSuite, align purchase orders with invoices, and verify receipt and application of payments.
• Manage onboarding for new partners by completing vendor and customer setups, gathering necessary documents, tax forms, and banking information.
• Contribute to month-end financial closing through account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries.
• Keep process documentation current and assist with external audit requests as needed.
• Undertake additional accounting and finance operational projects as they arise.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of three years' experience in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations, with proven capability running recurring cycles independently.
• Proficiency in NetSuite accounts receivable and billing functions.
• Excellent organizational skills with capacity to manage strict monthly deadlines without daily supervision.
• Strong professional written communication skills, acting as a direct contact for external partners.
• Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to reconciling data discrepancies across multiple sources.
• Familiarity with SQL or BigQuery is advantageous for preliminary data investigations.
• Experience within fast-paced technology, marketplace, or travel companies is preferable.
• Knowledge of revenue share, commission-based, or variable partner billing arrangements is a plus.
