Role Description
The Commercial team is seeking an Account Manager to develop and nurture strong business relationships with key clients across the Wellington region. This role focuses on managing an existing portfolio of Trades, Organisations, and Builders, while identifying prospects for new business and re-engaging previous customers. Successful candidates will be strategic in planning, capable of initiating new contacts as well as revitalizing former bonds. Knowledge of the industry is essential, with confidence in cold calling and client visits; ability to interpret building plans is advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse customer base including Residential Builders, Trades, and local Organisations with opportunities to expand market share.
- Contribute to shaping effective strategies, providing exceptional customer service, and managing a sales portfolio that reflects personal success.
- Drive and implement strategic sales plans for Bunnings using in-depth knowledge of product and service ranges.
- Collaborate closely with the Bunnings Warehouse in Wellington and the Commercial Services team across New Zealand.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that support KPI achievement and gross profit targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders within and outside the company to identify new business opportunities and grow market presence.
- Prepare and oversee budgets aligned with company expectations.
- Commit to personal and team safety standards.
Candidate Profile
The position reports to the Area Sales Manager – Trade in the South Island and is ideal for a confident, knowledgeable sales professional with a proven record in business development and client engagement. The role offers an inclusive and high-performing team environment.
