About the Role

Join our team at Bunnings and experience the retail environment from a leadership perspective. As a Department Manager, you will oversee daily operations, sales, and stock management in your designated department. Collaborating closely with other department managers and reporting to your Operations and Complex Managers, you will lead a team of over 20 members to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a large team to foster an engaged, safe, and productive work environment, including performing duty manager tasks such as store opening and closing on weekdays and weekends.
  • Develop team capabilities focused on delivering excellent customer experience and maintaining safety and compliance standards.
  • Strategically plan rosters and manage team performance to meet service commitments and drive department sales through effective merchandising and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Address customer feedback to continually enhance the shopping experience.
  • Maintain department stock accuracy, oversee inventory adjustments, ensure proper replenishment, and implement loss prevention measures.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 20 or more in a high-volume retail or customer-focused setting.
  • Strong commitment to establishing and promoting a safe and secure working environment by modeling safety leadership.
  • Ability to manage store opening and closing procedures and maintain smooth operations throughout the week, including weekends.
  • Skilled at building team capability through clear communication, performance management, and recognition.
  • Experienced in retail fundamentals such as merchandising, sales performance, stock management, and loss prevention.

Additional Information

This role includes a minimum weekday to weekend roster ratio of one in three, with public holiday work as needed. Applicants must be aged 15 or older.
