Job description

Role overview

The Account Executive for Chicago owns the complete omnichannel business for a defined market. This role focuses on delivering Dior’s retail sales plan across every account and platform, including Dior.com, while strengthening brand presence, improving CRM performance, and supporting the development of all Dior brand ambassadors in the territory.

Market strategy

  • Create and execute a territory plan designed to surpass omnichannel sales targets, with emphasis on revenue growth, market leadership, and stronger market penetration.
  • Work with the Regional Director to make priority decisions based on market conditions and calendar trends, and build long-term actions that increase repeat purchasing.
  • For key cities and markets, team up with the Business Development Manager to accelerate CRM, brand image, premium assortment, and wider business goals.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of retailer CRM programs and Dior.com tools so the client experience at point of sale is optimized.

People development and education

  • Map the key stakeholders in the market and build the relationships needed to gather business-critical information.
  • Recruit, hire, and grow high-performing counter teams, freelancers, and market leads.
  • Protect productivity standards for beauty and fragrance consultants, and build individual action plans to help them reach their goals.
  • Improve productivity across specialty multi-retailers through engagement, strong training, excellent operational execution, and leadership of freelancers and market leads.
  • Use retail development, education, and events tools to deliver a unified experience across retailers and platforms.
  • Champion Dior’s values while encouraging creativity, innovation, and thoughtful risk-taking.

Financial analysis and budget management

  • Review sales results to spot growth opportunities and performance gaps.
  • Ensure US roll-up worksheets are updated and shared on time.
  • Track and evaluate retailer CRM performance.
  • Identify and quantify market share opportunities.
  • Manage travel and entertainment spending in line with corporate policy.

Brand image and merchandising

  • Apply company standards consistently so beauty stylist presentation, counter standards, event set-ups, merchandising, and social media all meet expectations.
  • Negotiate strong floor space and placement, and give priority to all merchandising decisions at point of sale.

Additional information

This position reports to the Regional Sales Director. It also exercises supervision over market leads, selling specialists, and retailer counter teams by association.

The job description reflects the main responsibilities of the role and is not a complete list of every duty that may be required. Responsibilities may change, or additional tasks may be assigned, with or without notice. All candidate information will be handled confidentially in line with EEO guidelines.

The company uses the posted salary range as a market-based guide for compensation, while retaining flexibility to reward expertise, performance, and tenure. The stated good-faith pay range for this role is $85,000 to $100,000, and compensation may fall outside that range.

Profile

The ideal candidate brings extensive cosmetics sales leadership experience, strong people management capability, and a solid command of the beauty and fragrance retail landscape. This role also requires flexible hours, willingness to travel for out-of-market meetings with overnight stays, and a valid driver’s license.

Travel and scheduling

Work hours must remain flexible to meet business needs. Out-of-market meetings require overnight travel at least twice per year, and some territories may require overnight travel 20% to 60% of the time.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in cosmetics, ideally in a Counter Manager, Boutique Manager, Department Manager, or Business Director role.
  • Prior people-management experience leading a minimum team size of 10.
  • Proven background in hiring, training, and developing sales teams.
  • Strong knowledge of leading beauty and fragrance brands and how they compare in the market.
  • Solid understanding of how key multi-brand, department store, and specialty retailers operate.
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel as needed, including overnight stays.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Critical capabilities

  • Team leadership with the ability to coach, manage, and develop sales staff.
  • Relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Planning and execution skills for in-store events and operational problem-solving.
  • Business analysis using metrics to assess performance and build action plans.
  • Organization and omnichannel planning across multiple account priorities and marketing calendars.
