Role overview
upGrad is seeking an Academic Counsellor for its offline learning centres in Bangalore. In this role, you will guide prospective learners toward the most suitable career and learning options, explain how the programs can support their goals, and help convert interest into enrollments and revenue.

Key responsibilities
You will own learner engagement and counselling across calls, video interactions, and in-centre discussions. The job also involves handling the full admission journey, working toward sales targets, and ensuring a smooth experience for every learner.
Additional responsibilities
- Connect with prospective learners to understand their career objectives and suggest relevant programs.
- Meet weekly and monthly enrollment and revenue goals by converting leads into admissions.
- Handle the complete sales process from first contact through enrollment and after-sales support.
- Monitor counselling activity, conversion performance, and revenue outcomes, then work on improving them.
- Keep learner information updated in the CRM and pass along lead-quality feedback to the marketing team.
- Coordinate with centre teams to support a seamless learner experience and maintain satisfaction.
Experience and skills expected
The role is open to graduates with 0 to 2 years of experience in consultative sales or B2C sales. Experience in the education sector is preferred. Candidates should be strong communicators, able to persuade and build relationships, stay organized, manage several priorities under pressure, listen empathetically, and work comfortably with CRM systems and basic MS Office tools.
Compensation and benefits
The offered compensation is a fixed package of 5 LPA. In addition, the role includes performance-based incentives, healthcare support, learning discounts, and referral rewards as outlined above.
