Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a seasoned and driven Trader to join our Household and Personal Care (HHPC) team, focusing exclusively on direct sales operations. This role is pivotal within our newly aligned team intended to accelerate commercial results and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Target and expand Solevo's customer base and share in the assigned segment and countries.
• Proactively scout and capitalize on new trading opportunities to boost segment growth.
• Manage the entire trading cycle from sourcing and negotiating to selling commodity and semi-commodity chemicals under the HHPC segment.
• Act as the principal commercial liaison for clients in strategic territories and assist regional sales teams by providing swift pricing quotes.
• Evaluate customers' financial health, submit financial terms to the credit risk team, and oversee payment tracking with Finance.
• Foster solid relationships with suppliers and clients to secure advantageous terms and ensure smooth transactions.
• Collaborate across internal departments—Execution, Purchasing, Logistics, and Sales—to optimize supply chains and maintain superior service.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven track record in trading, commercial, or sales roles in chemical distribution, commodities, or related industries.
• Strong grasp of international trade principles, logistics, and supply chain operations.
• Ability to perform efficiently under high-pressure, fast-turnaround conditions.
• Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal communication capabilities.
• Proficiency in both French and English languages, written and verbal.

Preferred Experience:

• Background in Homecare and Personal Care chemical sectors.
• Knowledge of the African market including its particular logistics challenges.
• Experience in international trade norms, including Incoterms.
• Additional language skills such as Arabic or Portuguese are beneficial.
