This role involves providing comprehensive payroll administration and bookkeeping support for a well-established organization based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, working entirely remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer monthly payroll accurately and timely using Sage 300 Payroll software.
  • Maintain and update detailed employee payroll records, including changes related to hiring, terminations, salary adjustments, leaves, deductions, and allowances.
  • Ensure compliance with South African payroll legislations such as PAYE, UIF, and SDL, as well as company policies.
  • Prepare payroll reports, perform reconciliations, and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Assist with statutory payroll submissions and maintain required records.
  • Process and reconcile bank transactions, including supplier invoices and customer receipts.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, creditor and debtor reconciliations.
  • Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare journals as needed.
  • Reconcile petty cash and expense claims.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial operations and assist with budgeting and cash flow reports where necessary.
