Role Overview
The Online Merchandising Manager oversees the onsite merchandising strategy on both app and web platforms to create an engaging and conversion-focused customer experience. This role entails managing category performance, executing campaigns, optimizing search functionality, and handling daily trading operations to boost revenue and enhance the user journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement merchandising plans across homepage, category, brand, and landing pages.
- Manage product sorting, filtering, recommendations, and cross/up-sell placements.
- Ensure accurate product categorization and maintain taxonomy standards.
- Align the merchandising calendar with trade, marketing, and brand initiatives.
- Coordinate campaign rollouts, seasonal promotions, and onsite events.
- Track KPIs such as traffic, conversion rates, average order value, sales, and engagement regularly.
- Identify underperforming categories and enact corrective strategies.
- Audit search functionality, navigation, and customer journey periodically.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to derive insights and optimize merchandising tactics.
- Monitor return on investment for onsite campaigns and promotions.
- Ensure smooth user experience on desktop and mobile devices.
- Optimize search results, product discoverability, and filtering mechanisms.
- Spot opportunities to enhance content placement and product visibility.
- Support A/B testing for banners, sorting algorithms, and navigation improvements.
- Engage cross-functionally with Marketing, SEO, CRM, Creative, Category, Product, Tech, supply chain, and buying teams for alignment and execution.
- Provide feedback for digital marketing campaigns to maintain onsite coherence.
- Prepare detailed weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights.
- Maintain merchandising guidelines and best practice documentation.
- Ensure onsite content accuracy, pricing integrity, and adherence to promotions.
- Monitor site functionalities and escalate technical issues as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- 4 to 6 years of experience in e-commerce or online merchandising roles.
- In-depth knowledge of onsite merchandising strategies and conversion optimization.
- Proficiency with analytics tools such as Tableau and Google Analytics 4, including reporting dashboards.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and merchandising software tools.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret data and convert it into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or multi-brand retail sectors is advantageous.
