About the Role

This fully remote leadership position requires frequent travel across California to oversee AlphaBEST Education's statewide Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P). The Regional Director will manage program delivery ensuring compliance, foster relationships with district partners, lead a team of Area Managers, and drive contract retention and revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coach Area Managers to ensure consistent program execution aligned with organizational standards.
Represent AlphaBEST at California Department of Education and regional learning events to maintain active engagement in the expanded learning ecosystem.
Set clear performance expectations, provide mentoring, and oversee recruitment and training of management staff.
Ensure high-quality implementation of ELO-P programs and compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal departments on resource management including staffing, training, and finance.
Regularly visit program sites statewide to monitor quality, licensing standards, and maintain customer satisfaction.
Establish and execute strategic operational plans focused on maximizing enrollment and program effectiveness.
Serve as the primary liaison for district partners, overseeing day-to-day program operations and supporting contract negotiations.
Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with school and district leaders.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field; master's preferred.
At least 6 years' experience in education, expanded learning, or nonprofit sectors.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading contract negotiations and achieving business growth targets.
Over 4 years managing regional or multi-team operations with successful oversight of 300+ staff.
In-depth knowledge and direct operational experience with California's ELO-P mandates.
Proven ability to develop and implement local strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
Experience managing budgets exceeding $10 million.
Strong leadership skills with focus on performance and team motivation.
High emotional intelligence and entrepreneurial mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate confidential and sensitive information effectively.
Resident of a California metro area near a major airport with willingness to travel frequently statewide.

Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM systems preferred.
