About the Role
This fully remote leadership position requires frequent travel across California to oversee AlphaBEST Education's statewide Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P). The Regional Director will manage program delivery ensuring compliance, foster relationships with district partners, lead a team of Area Managers, and drive contract retention and revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach Area Managers to ensure consistent program execution aligned with organizational standards.
- Represent AlphaBEST at California Department of Education and regional learning events to maintain active engagement in the expanded learning ecosystem.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide mentoring, and oversee recruitment and training of management staff.
- Ensure high-quality implementation of ELO-P programs and compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments on resource management including staffing, training, and finance.
- Regularly visit program sites statewide to monitor quality, licensing standards, and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Establish and execute strategic operational plans focused on maximizing enrollment and program effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary liaison for district partners, overseeing day-to-day program operations and supporting contract negotiations.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with school and district leaders.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field; master's preferred.
- At least 6 years' experience in education, expanded learning, or nonprofit sectors.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading contract negotiations and achieving business growth targets.
- Over 4 years managing regional or multi-team operations with successful oversight of 300+ staff.
- In-depth knowledge and direct operational experience with California's ELO-P mandates.
- Proven ability to develop and implement local strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $10 million.
- Strong leadership skills with focus on performance and team motivation.
- High emotional intelligence and entrepreneurial mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate confidential and sensitive information effectively.
- Resident of a California metro area near a major airport with willingness to travel frequently statewide.
Computer Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM systems preferred.
