About the Role
The Senior Human Resources Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting our North American division by integrating strategic HR initiatives with daily operations. This hybrid role requires a presence in the Chicago office at least three days a week, fostering collaboration with leadership and people managers to cultivate a dynamic and high-performance workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team and Global HR Director to develop and implement people strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead organizational development efforts including talent management, succession planning, and leadership growth programs to nurture strong teams.
- Serve as a trusted consultant during organizational transformations, including culture shifts and change management.
- Oversee the complete HR lifecycle, ensuring efficient payroll, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance while driving process standardization.
- Direct recruitment strategies and coordinate with hiring managers to meet talent acquisition needs and enhance onboarding experiences.
- Manage healthcare benefits, 401(k) governance, compensation planning, market analysis, salary reviews, and bonus programs.
- Foster effective cooperation within a matrix organization structure to encourage innovation and resource sharing across global HR teams.
- Analyze HR data and workforce trends to deliver actionable insights that guide leadership decisions.
- Work closely with legal teams to handle employee relations, investigations, policy revisions, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
- Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives tailored to the regional market.
- Act as the primary HR advisor for employee relations, coaching managers on performance management, discipline, conflict resolution, and career development to maintain a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and execute programs promoting employee engagement and connectivity within a hybrid work model.
Experience and Qualifications
- Five to seven or more years of progressive HR experience, preferably within consumer packaged goods or retail sectors.
- Deep knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local employment laws.
- Experience leading or mentoring HR professionals, ideally with direct reports.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed global organization, balancing autonomy with alignment to global directives.
- Strong technical skills with HR information systems and MS Office suite.
