Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Officer to manage and own the finance operations within a busy school environment across two sites in Mt Eden and Parnell, Auckland. This on-site, full-time permanent role entails a mix of hands-on accounting duties and financial reporting to ensure smooth fiscal management.
Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Support month-end activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Manage contract-based billing by creating, maintaining, and updating contracts and amendments.
- Oversee debtor management and collections with professionalism and effective relationship management.
- Assist the Principal in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting tasks.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure efficient finance workflows throughout the school.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as an Accounts Officer, Senior Accounts Officer, or Assistant Accountant, preferably working autonomously or as sole charge.
- In-depth understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, journal entries, and month-end processes.
- Confident in communicating financial information with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, and ensure completion.
- Previous experience with ERP systems.
