Flex Stores & Eateries Limited, a subsidiary of Criset Group of Companies, is a startup focused on producing wholesale bakery and snack products. The company aims to distribute a range of high-quality baked goods and packaged snacks to supermarkets, retail chains, schools, hotels, restaurants, offices, distributors, event companies, and other institutional clients in bulk.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and business-savvy General Manager to oversee the establishment, launch, and day-to-day operations of our wholesale food production business. This leadership role requires hands-on involvement in all facets of large-scale food manufacturing and business-to-business sales operations to build a strong and profitable wholesale food brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment and launching processes of the wholesale bakery and snack manufacturing facility.
- Design and implement production, sales, distribution, and operational strategies for the company.
- Create effective production workflows, systems, and standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency.
- Coordinate daily and weekly production schedules aligned with confirmed orders, sales forecasts, and distribution demands.
- Supervise the bulk production of products such as chin chin and other snacks ensuring recipe fidelity and quality standards.
- Ensure all products meet approved specifications related to recipe, size, weight, quality, and packaging requirements.
- Monitor production capacity, ensuring timely and accurate completion and delivery of wholesale orders.
- Recruit, train, and manage staff across baking, production, packaging, sales, warehousing, and logistics functions.
- Expand and maintain strong business relationships with supermarkets, retail outlets, schools, hotels, restaurants, distributors, and corporate buyers.
- Develop and manage a robust network of wholesalers, resellers, and distribution partners.
- Define wholesale pricing, establish minimum order quantities, set payment terms, and manage customer credit policies.
- Prepare sales targets, production budgets, cash flow forecasts, and monthly operational and financial reports.
- Oversee management of production costs, margins, revenues, expenses, and overall profitability.
- Handle procurement processes for supplies including flour, sugar, oil, and packaging materials; negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors.
- Implement inventory control systems to manage raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods stock.
- Reduce waste, spoilage, theft, and unnecessary expenditure within production and supply chain processes.
- Manage packaging, warehousing, order fulfillment, and logistics ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Supervise delivery vehicle maintenance and distribution routing.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to stimulate wholesale orders and enhance market penetration.
- Identify opportunities for new product lines and packaging solutions suitable for wholesale and retail distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety, hygiene, health, and regulatory standards.
- Provide regular operational, sales, and financial performance updates to the management board of Criset Group of Companies.
- Take full accountability for overall business growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Food Science, Hospitality Management, Production Management, Marketing, Accounting, or related disciplines.
- Proven leadership experience in bakery, food production, FMCG, catering, or manufacturing sectors.
- Experience with wholesale production or B2B distribution an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning, inventory control, procurement, and cost management.
- Proven ability to develop wholesale customer bases and distribution networks.
- Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance procedures.
- Strong grasp of pricing strategies, profit margin management, sales targets, and P&L oversight.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to independently build systems and manage start-up operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fundamental financial and operational reporting tools.
