About the Role
Join Primark's energetic Marketing team as a Category Marketing Officer where you will play a central role in coordinating and delivering category campaigns, product launches, seasonal activities, and essential trading initiatives. This opportunity offers comprehensive experience in integrated marketing within a swift retail setting, supporting impactful customer-facing campaigns across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with buying teams to ensure smooth delivery of assigned category campaigns, product launches, and seasonal events.
- Maintain detailed timelines, trackers, performance indicators, and schedules for multiple projects, directly updating the buying department.
- Monitor campaign progress, providing buying teams with clear insight on statuses, pending actions, and deadlines.
- Partner with trade planning and operations functions to facilitate campaign workflows from initial briefing through activation and closure.
- Promptly report delays, risks, missing data, or dependencies to management.
- Manage the flow and version control of creative briefs, copy, product data, and campaign assets across buying units, ensuring correct approved materials are distributed and used.
- Organize and keep thorough records of briefs, campaign assets, decisions, and supporting documentation.
- Arrange meetings, check-ins, reviews, and planning sessions to integrate category processes and maintain regular communication on campaign status and changes with stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships and provide responsive support in day-to-day activities.
- Assist Marketing Managers with status reporting, presentations, and daily administrative tasks within the buying function, adhering to established procedures and templates.
- Collect and provide campaign delivery and performance data to keep buying teams informed; support weekly progress reports and post-campaign reviews.
- Maintain documentation of objectives, outcomes, learnings, and action points.
- Conduct basic market, customer, and competitor research as needed, raising awareness of potential gaps or issues to Marketing Managers.
- Ensure strong organization across digital files, tools, systems, and shared workspaces.
- Identify and suggest straightforward improvements to workflow coordination and efficiency.
- Handle multiple tasks and deadlines while seeking clarification whenever priorities conflict.
- Maintain discretion, accuracy, and attention to detail in all assignments.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Experience & Skills
- A minimum of two years' experience in marketing, project coordination, or similar roles is preferred.
- Exposure to retail, ecommerce, fashion, consumer products, or commercial sectors is advantageous.
- Experience supporting projects, campaigns, or cross-functional teams is beneficial.
- A genuine interest in customers, fashion, retail, and marketing is important.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and ensure timely completion of actions.
- Proficient with spreadsheets, presentations, and collaborative digital systems.
- Basic understanding of marketing or campaign management processes is desirable.
- Proactive, reliable, and comfortable asking questions when needed.
