A prominent global energy trading firm in Singapore is looking for a Junior Market Risk Analyst to join their team. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with commercial desks specializing in energy and liquid commodities within a dynamic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior risk managers and traders to understand and analyze global energy markets.
• Perform daily mark-to-market valuations and profit & loss reporting for active portfolios.
• Track and monitor open trading positions and risk limits consistently.
• Interpret and communicate daily portfolio fluctuations to stakeholders.
• Assist in stress-testing trading strategies and maintaining accurate forward price curves.
• Ensure proper alignment of paper hedge transactions with actual trades.
• Develop and implement automated processes to enhance the efficiency of risk management operations.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in market risk or product control roles within trading houses, energy companies, or financial firms.
• Hold a degree in a quantitative field such as finance, mathematics, or engineering.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of energy derivatives and physical pricing mechanisms.
• Have working knowledge of programming languages or tools like Python, SQL, or VBA.
• Maintain clear and effective communication skills, especially when working with traders in high-pressure situations.
