Overview
A prominent global energy trading firm in Singapore is looking for a Junior Market Risk Analyst to join their team. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with commercial desks specializing in energy and liquid commodities within a dynamic trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior risk managers and traders to understand and analyze global energy markets.
- Perform daily mark-to-market valuations and profit & loss reporting for active portfolios.
- Track and monitor open trading positions and risk limits consistently.
- Interpret and communicate daily portfolio fluctuations to stakeholders.
- Assist in stress-testing trading strategies and maintaining accurate forward price curves.
- Ensure proper alignment of paper hedge transactions with actual trades.
- Develop and implement automated processes to enhance the efficiency of risk management operations.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in market risk or product control roles within trading houses, energy companies, or financial firms.
- Hold a degree in a quantitative field such as finance, mathematics, or engineering.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of energy derivatives and physical pricing mechanisms.
- Have working knowledge of programming languages or tools like Python, SQL, or VBA.
- Maintain clear and effective communication skills, especially when working with traders in high-pressure situations.
