Role Summary
As a Business Valuation Analyst, you will play an integral role in project execution, performing valuation analysis and advising on transactions across a diverse range of industries. You will engage directly with CEOs, CFOs, and their advisors, gaining insight into business drivers while preparing detailed financial models and valuation reports. This role demands effective multitasking, clear communication, and a commitment to refining analytical and writing skills essential for high-quality valuation work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Managers and Directors in the execution of valuation projects.
- Create and verify complex financial models and valuation analyses.
- Participate in client site visits and conduct management interviews.
- Carry out economic and industry research relevant to client engagements.
- Draft thorough valuation reports and client presentations.
Client and Travel Details
Our client base comprises over 150 companies across more than 30 states, including industries such as brewing, IT, government contracting, construction, retail, manufacturing, distribution, and transportation. Analysts have opportunities to travel for client meetings and due diligence in various cities including Honolulu, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Nashville. Travel requirements can be as much as 20%.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting; business valuation background is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience with ESOP valuation is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of financial statements.
- Intermediate grasp of financial theory and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of various valuation approaches such as DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis is beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a willingness to accept feedback.
- Effective time management, multitasking aptitude, creativity in problem-solving, and accountability.
