General Operative

Position Overview

Glanua is seeking skilled General Operatives to join their expanding teams at the Ballinamuck Water Treatment Plant in Co. Waterford. This role involves working on various water and wastewater infrastructure projects, contributing to a range of tasks from groundwork and pipelaying to landscaping and site finishing. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver multiple projects simultaneously under a unified team culture.
• Uphold site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability protocols at all times.
• Perform installation of ducting, sewer pipes, manholes, drainage systems, and water mains.
• Execute site finishing duties including kerbing, shuttering, concrete pouring and finishing, as well as topsoiling and landscaping tasks.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping on site to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Work closely with engineering teams, HSQE advisors, and management to guarantee safe and efficient project execution.
• Provide clients and their representatives with a professional and respectful experience, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
• Fulfill additional tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• At least three years of experience in a similar role, ideally within utilities or the water/wastewater sector.
• Familiarity with Irish Water projects is advantageous.
• Possess manual handling and safe pass certifications.
• Holding current tickets for excavator, dumper, SLG, or LUGS is beneficial.
• Experience with HDPE welding and relevant certification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Proficient in using grade and level laser equipment.
• Skilled in shuttering, kerbing, concrete pouring, and finishing techniques.
• Have a foundational understanding of health and safety standards and actively support the organization's safety culture.
• Demonstrate teamwork skills required for successful project delivery.
• Must hold a full driving licence.
