Overview
The Lancashire and South Cumbria Traumatic Stress Service (LSCTSS), located in Chorley, invites applications for two roles: one 12-month fixed term full-time position and one full-time permanent position. This service offers specialist assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing a wide range of distressing symptoms resulting from traumatic events.
Role Purpose
The Assistant Practitioner will focus on providing psychological support and preparatory interventions for clients waiting to begin treatment. These interventions aim to equip clients with skills to manage and reduce their emotional distress and can be delivered either face-to-face or online.
Scope and Environment
The post-holder will operate within defined health and social care settings, including acute healthcare, mental health, or community mental health. The role involves working with diverse populations of varying ages and cultural backgrounds, utilizing interpreters as necessary, and upholding commitments to equal opportunities.
Organizational Values and Inclusivity
LSCFT prioritizes diversity, inclusion, and equality, actively challenging discrimination. Applications are encouraged from all individuals, especially those from under-represented groups and those with lived experiences relevant to the service. Flexible working arrangements are supported to promote work-life balance and wellbeing.
