Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Brown Jug Inn, a vibrant community hub located in Fairfield West, New South Wales. This role offers a base salary of $80,000 plus superannuation, a bonus scheme, and extensive group-wide discounts. The successful candidate will support smooth operations across the venue including bistro service, premium gaming areas, and create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps locals coming back.
Daily Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with regular patrons, becoming a familiar and trusted presence.
- Assist the Publican in managing the venue efficiently, promoting safety and a positive environment.
- Develop leadership skills to eventually take on Publican duties and lead a skilled hospitality team.
- Anticipate and resolve potential problems before they escalate.
- Maintain high energy and friendly service throughout every shift.
Position Requirements
- This role involves physical tasks such as manual handling and lifting stock, kegs, and deliveries, so applicants must be physically capable of these duties.
- Experience within bar, bistro, or gaming room environments, including previous supervisory responsibilities.
- Willingness to learn from previous management experience and readiness to take on increased responsibility.
- Confidence, pride, and excellent interpersonal skills to represent the venue in the absence of the Publican.
- Current certifications for Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG/RCG), and appropriate state-specific licenses (ARCG).
