Role Overview

Family Works Northern (FWN) offers various strength-based child and family services throughout the upper North Island. In partnership with the Anglican Trust for Women and Children, FWN operates a joint Youth Work service in South Auckland. They are seeking a skilled Youth Worker or Social Worker to join their team delivering the 'Check and Connect Programme'.

This varied and engaging position involves working closely with students from selected secondary schools in Auckland to promote school engagement, academic success, and completion. The worker will empower young people to reconnect with school and improve their educational outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

• A qualification in Youth Work or a Social Work degree with eligibility for registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB).
• Demonstrated significant experience working with young people.
• Comprehensive understanding of the developmental needs of youth.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Awareness and sensitivity to the cultural needs of the community served.
• Experience applying strength-based practice methodologies.
• Ability to effectively collaborate within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Possession of a current New Zealand driver’s license and access to reliable transport.
