About the Role
As the key operational support within the Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) program, you will ensure a safe, organized, and therapeutically appropriate environment for adolescent clients throughout their time on site. This dynamic, client-facing position demands the ability to maintain composure in fast-paced situations and a sincere commitment to supporting teens.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee adolescent clients aged 13 to 17 during sessions, transitions, breaks, and free time to promote safety and structure.
- Ensure program safety by responding to escalated behaviors using trauma-informed care and crisis management strategies.
- Assist clinicians with maintaining therapeutic schedules and smooth program operation.
- Welcome and support families during drop-off and pick-up with professionalism and warmth.
- Manage front desk duties including handling phone calls, recording attendance, and managing sign-in/sign-out processes.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation such as wellness check-ins and incident reports daily.
- Immediately report safety concerns, disclosures, or behavioral issues to clinical staff appropriately.
- Provide operational support through administrative and organizational tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Proven experience working with adolescents in educational, clinical, camp, or community environments.
- Skillful in de-escalating situations and maintaining order without engaging in power struggles.
- Strong abilities in documentation and incident reporting.
- Mandatory bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to stay emotionally composed, professional, and consistent under pressure.
- Clear understanding of the boundaries of a non-clinical role, with proper escalation of clinical concerns.
- Preferred candidates include current students or recent graduates in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
