Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time permanent Youth Tutor based in Auckland CBD. This role involves delivering dynamic, practical lessons to Level 2 Youth Guarantee students. You'll foster a welcoming, inclusive environment, helping learners gain confidence, practical skills, and smooth transition to further education. Collaboration with learner support and campus staff is key to ensuring positive educational achievements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and present innovative, hands-on lessons aligned with program goals.
- Track student progress and provide appropriate assessments and feedback.
- Establish strong partnerships with support services and community organizations.
- Maintain comprehensive records and ensure compliance with NZQA standards.
- Participate in program development and continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay updated on current trends and industry standards in Hair and Beauty.
Candidate Profile
- Passionate about supporting youth and creating practical learning experiences.
- Experience or qualifications in Hairdressing, Barbering, Beauty Therapy, or related fields are a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience in teaching, coaching, mentoring, or training is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of motivating learners from diverse backgrounds and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Organized with sound administrative skills.
- Committed to inclusive, culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Experience teaching youth or adult learners in tertiary or relevant education settings is advantageous.
