Position Overview

The Workplace Health Coach plays a critical role in fostering meaningful behavior changes by providing personalized, accessible health coaching embedded within the daily workplace culture. This client-focused coach offers both individual and group coaching sessions to assist employees in overcoming health challenges and establishing sustainable wellness habits. The role includes designing and leading health education programs and representing wellbeing initiatives for a major financial client.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position based onsite in Mount Laurel, NJ, with about 10% travel required to Philadelphia and nearby regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group health coaching sessions in person and virtually, utilizing evidence-based strategies to promote wellbeing and health improvement.
• Employ coaching techniques such as motivational interviewing, appreciative inquiry, and participant-centered approaches to encourage meaningful behavioral changes in employees encountering various health concerns.
• Create and facilitate onsite and virtual health education programs including workshops, webinars, and group coaching targeting diverse employee groups.
• Direct employees to external health resources when issues fall outside the coaching scope, maintaining ongoing coaching relationships.
• Act as the expert user of the Personify Health platform to support employee enrollment and sustained engagement with platform features, resources, and partner services.
• Use relevant data and metrics to track participant progress, optimize individual health outcomes, and continuously improve program delivery and participant experience.
• Collaborate with client leadership and the Corporate Benefits team to ensure alignment of health programming with organizational goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBHWC) or International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification is preferred, with requirement to obtain within two years of hire.
• Three to five years of experience in health coaching or relevant fields such as behavioral health, general wellbeing, exercise training, nutrition coaching, or nursing.
• Preferred background includes two to four years focused on behavior change management, motivational interviewing, and delivering health coaching.
• Experience conducting confidential individual and group coaching sessions is advantageous.
• Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and electronic documentation systems, including rapid adaptation to new technologies.
• Demonstrated capability in event planning and execution from strategic development to delivery.
• Ability to present effectively to diverse audiences across organizational levels via virtual and in-person formats.
• Experience leveraging metrics to monitor and enhance participant health outcomes.
• Skillful at navigating complex organizational structures involving multiple stakeholders and decision makers.

Additional Information

This position requires approximately 10% travel primarily to Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
