Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is on behalf of a partner employer in Australia, with that employer responsible for managing applications and the rest of the hiring process. The role focuses on lifting workplace safety performance across a varied group of organisations by combining strategic WHS thinking with practical risk control and injury-prevention work.

You will act as a bridge between data analysis, psychosocial safety initiatives, and on-the-ground workplace actions that help reduce incidents and improve return-to-work results. A major part of the role is partnering with senior leaders, operational managers, and frontline teams through workshops, webinars, and advisory conversations. Success in this position depends on being able to turn complex WHS and claims information into clear steps that organisations can put into practice straight away.

This is a visible, purpose-led role where collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement are central to creating safer workplaces and strengthening safety culture.

Key accountabilities

  • Review claims patterns, incident information, and safety performance indicators to spot risk areas and opportunities to improve.
  • Plan and run WHS engagement activities such as workshops, webinars, training sessions, and roadshows.
  • Help create safety communication materials, including updates on legislation and guidance on managing risk.
  • Lead conversations with executives, managers, and frontline personnel to encourage safer ways of working.
  • Turn psychosocial safety findings and broader research into practical actions that support injury prevention and return-to-work efforts.
  • Work with internal colleagues to deliver workplace safety and wellbeing initiatives.

Role requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in WHS, safety consulting, workers’ compensation, return-to-work, or a closely related area.
  • Good working knowledge of WHS laws and workers’ compensation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to present, facilitate, or train groups from different backgrounds.
  • Confidence engaging with executives, managers, and frontline employees across a range of industries.
  • Experience in multi-site or multi-jurisdiction settings is considered an advantage.
  • A Diploma in WHS is mandatory; further study in safety, psychology, HR, allied health, or risk management is desirable.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-management capability.

Benefits and workplace offering

  • Flexible hybrid arrangement, with up to 2 days working from home.
  • Competitive pay package plus annual performance reviews and incentive opportunities.
  • Broad employee wellbeing support, including mental health and counselling services.
  • Discounts available for health insurance, gym memberships, and retail partners.
  • Structured learning and development support for long-term career progression.
  • Inclusive, collaborative team environment built on respect and support.
  • Paid parental leave and extra employee benefits based on tenure.
  • Regular company events and activities designed to keep teams connected.

Application and data handling information

Applications are assessed through an AI-assisted matching process that helps identify candidates aligned with the role’s core requirements. The strongest matches are shortlisted and shared with the hiring employer, whose internal team handles interviews, assessments, final decisions, and next steps.

By submitting an application, candidates agree that personal data will be processed to evaluate suitability and shared with the hiring employer where relevant. This is done under applicable data protection principles, including legitimate interest and pre-contractual processing where relevant. Applicants may request access, correction, deletion, or objection rights at any time.

AI tools may be used to support parts of the hiring workflow, including application review, resume analysis, response assessment, and identification of possible inconsistencies or verification signals in submitted materials. These tools assist recruiters but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people.
