Role overview

REM Waste Management is a UK-based waste services business that supports more than 750 suppliers across the country. The company is expanding its remote sales function and is looking for inbound sales closers who can work with warm, pre-qualified leads. There is no cold calling or prospecting involved; the responsibility is to answer incoming enquiries and convert them into sales.

This position suits someone who performs well in high-volume environments, tracks their own performance closely, and is confident working independently without the structure of a physical sales floor.

Key responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls from prospects who are already prepared to move forward with a purchase.
  • Quickly establish trust and steer the conversation toward a buying decision during the same call.
  • Manage objections effectively and maintain a strong close rate, with a target of 10 or more sales each day.
  • Meet weekly and monthly performance goals without needing constant supervision.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including pipeline status and activity updates.

About you

  • You bring at least 3 years of experience in telesales, contact-centre sales, or another phone-based closing role.
  • You are focused on closing deals, not simply handling enquiries.
  • You are comfortable working on your own without in-person oversight.
  • You understand and monitor your own conversion rate, average call duration, and other key metrics.
  • You handle rejection well and use it to improve performance.

Not suitable if

  • Your background is limited to account management or renewals.
  • You rely on daily check-ins or close supervision to stay productive.
  • You have not previously closed sales on the first call.

Offer and working setup

  • Competitive base pay plus uncapped commission for every successful close.
  • Full on-target earnings will be discussed in the first interview.
  • This is a permanent remote role with a work-from-home arrangement.

Working hours and contract details

This is a full-time role on a 5-day working week, scheduled across a Monday to Saturday rota, with working hours from 08:00 to 17:00 BST.

You will work as a freelance contractor under a UK contract. Payment is made monthly after invoicing for your basic pay and commission, and the amount is transferred directly to your bank account.

Equipment and workspace requirements

You will need a quiet and suitable home workspace, a computer that is no older than 2 years, at least 8 GB RAM, a call-centre style headset with microphone, and dedicated fibre broadband to support the calling software and avoid dropped calls.

Language requirement

Fluent spoken English with clear communication is required. Experience in the UK market over the phone is preferred.
