About the Role
Join Scottish Rugby to influence the future of women's rugby performance by providing expert nutritional guidance. As the Women’s Pathway Nutritionist, you will play an essential role in supporting athletes and stakeholders within the Women’s Performance Pathway, delivering science-based, athlete-centered nutrition services aimed at enhancing player development and performance while fostering lifelong positive nutrition habits.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer tailored nutrition assistance to athletes engaged in the Women’s Performance Pathway.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Nutrition to maintain a unified, evidence-based service.
- Encourage players to nurture sustainable and effective nutrition routines.
- Conduct educational workshops, prepare resources, and provide personalized nutrition coaching.
- Work synergistically with coaches, medical personnel, physical trainers, and other multidisciplinary staff.
- Create an environment conducive to athlete growth, wellbeing, and peak performance.
- Interpret nutrition research to formulate accessible and practical advice.
Candidate Profile
- Strong enthusiasm for athlete development with a dedication to advancing women and girls in competitive sports.
- Deep understanding of sports nutrition principles and their practical implementation in performance contexts.
- An evidence-based, athlete-focused approach to nutrition counseling.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage and educate players and colleagues.
- Ability to foster positive collaborations within multidisciplinary teams.
- A practical, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong commitment to supporting the health, development, and performance of female athletes.
