Responsibilities

• Create museum-specific concepts for education and mediation activities.
• Design learning programmes tailored to inclusive and intercultural audiences.
• Develop training formats for multipliers and partner educators.
• Contribute to the planning of new exhibition concepts.
• Provide subject-matter guidance, training, and supervision for freelance staff.

Required profile

• Completed academic university degree at Master’s, Magister/Magistra, Diplom (university) level, or an equivalent qualification in Near Eastern Archaeology, Ancient Oriental Studies, or a related discipline.
• Professional experience and solid institutional knowledge in the museum or cultural sector.
• Experience in designing and implementing education and outreach projects in archaeology.
• Strong familiarity with current specialist debates in education and mediation, especially intercultural and inclusive learning.
• Ability to communicate fluently in German and English, both spoken and written.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with educational institutions and civil-society stakeholders.
• Experience securing and delivering third-party funded or grant-supported projects.
• Knowledge of digital outreach formats, including social media.
• Experience writing audience-appropriate texts.
• Well-developed intercultural communication skills.
