Job Summary

The role requires an experienced Wintel Administrator (L2) to oversee and support the enterprise Windows server infrastructure. The successful candidate will manage and maintain Windows Servers, Active Directory, VMware virtualization environments, server patching and troubleshooting, ensuring reliable and performant IT operations within SLA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
• Execute installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and diagnostic procedures on Windows servers.
• Manage Active Directory components including Users, Groups, Organizational Units, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Administer VMware infrastructures such as vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter; handle virtual machine provisioning, snapshots, cloning, and manage resource allocation.
• Continuously monitor server health, performance metrics, storage, and overall infrastructure availability.
• Implement server hardening measures, apply security patches, and handle vulnerability remediation.
• Handle Level 2 incidents, process service requests, manage problem resolution, and execute changes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for persistent infrastructure issues to prevent recurrence.
• Manage Windows Failover Clustering, Internet Information Services (IIS), and Remote Desktop Services (RDS) as necessary.
• Collaborate with Level 3 support teams, vendors, and other infrastructure units for resolving issues.
• Maintain thorough documentation including SOPs and knowledge base entries.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL protocols and meet service level agreements.

Technical Skills Required

• Proficient with Windows Server editions 2012 through 2022 administration.
• Experienced in Active Directory and Group Policy management.
• Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, DFS, and managing file servers.
• Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter management.
• Experience with Windows Failover Clustering and IIS administration.
• Ability to manage patch deployment via WSUS, SCCM, or MECM.
• PowerShell scripting skills are preferred.
• Experience with backup and restoration solutions.
• Proficiency in server monitoring tools.
• Basic understanding of storage and SAN technologies.
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes related to Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure or AWS considered an advantage.
