Role overview
Apleona Ireland is hiring an additional Environmental Technician to work from its Loughrea office in County Galway. The position supports environmental engineering activities, including carrying out field visits across multiple locations throughout Ireland. The successful person will help implement cleanup plans, manage monitoring equipment, and compile findings into clear reports. This role calls for a practical technical mindset, careful attention to detail, and a willingness to travel nationally.
Working pattern
This is a Monday to Friday role, with working hours from 09:00 to 17:00.
Key duties
- Collect water samples and arrange for them to be sent to Biosearch for analysis.
- Carry out testing and treatment work on closed-loop systems.
- Prepare reports on closed-loop systems and share them with customers along with recommendations.
- Check that customer sites have the correct quantity of chemicals available on site.
- Maintain work orders accurately, add progress notes, create purchase orders for suppliers, and reassign orders to the appropriate team member when needed.
Skills and experience
The role requires someone who is comfortable using technical tools and working with environmental or water-related systems. Strong written and verbal communication, solid problem-solving ability, and accuracy in record-keeping are all important. Applicants should also be able to use Microsoft Office confidently and hold a clean driving licence, as travel to multiple sites is part of the job.
Qualification requirement
An associate degree in environmental engineering technology or a closely related subject is required.
