Cleaning Operative

Role overview

Apleona is seeking part-time cleaners to support operations in Loughrea, County Galway. This is an on-site position with a weekday morning/early afternoon schedule.

Working pattern

The shift runs Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00.

Main duties

• Vacuum carpets and mop or buff floors as required.
• Clean toilets and polish glass and brass fixtures and surfaces.
• Gather waste and ensure it is disposed of correctly.
• Handle cleaning products and equipment in line with COSHH guidance.
• Place appropriate safety signage while cleaning is in progress.
• Identify and report defects or safety concerns without delay.
• Stay alert to security matters and escalate any suspicious activity.
• Complete training relevant to the role when needed.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks assigned from time to time.
• Collaborate well with colleagues and deliver a high standard of customer service.

Qualifications and experience

• A solid work history is preferred; prior cleaning experience is an advantage.
• Familiarity with cleaning machinery and tools is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices is required.
• Good spoken and written English is needed.
• Applicants should be able to work on their own and manage priorities effectively.
• Reliability, honesty, and flexibility are important.
