Role overview

Apleona Ireland is hiring a Warehouse Operative for its site in Swords, County Dublin. This position is suited to candidates with previous warehousing experience, and there may be scope for supervisory progression for the right person.

Working pattern and contract

The role follows a Monday to Sunday rota with an average of 40 hours per week. It is offered as a fixed-term contract running until September 2027.

Key duties

  • Complete daily cleaning and housekeeping work across the warehouse as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Keep the site tidy by sweeping floors, controlling litter, and carrying out general upkeep.
  • Handle physically demanding work such as lifting and moving pallets and other materials.
  • Operate machinery and equipment carefully and only in accordance with the training and guidance provided.
  • Use cleaning equipment, tools, and materials in line with company methods and safety requirements.
  • Work in compliance with all health and safety rules, risk assessments, and safe working procedures.
  • Wear required protective gear, including safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.
  • Quickly report any hazards, faults, or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Support general housekeeping and waste handling activities throughout the warehouse.
  • Manage lost and found items according to site rules and ensure they are recorded or reported appropriately.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional, and cooperative manner while working on site.
  • Attend briefings and training sessions when required.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others affected by the work.
  • Protect the confidentiality of company operations and client-related information.
  • Stay adaptable and respond positively to changing operational needs.

Candidate profile

Applicants should have a strong command of English, be able to travel to the location by car because of the remote setting, and be comfortable with a flexible working approach. The role also requires the ability to use machinery and equipment needed for the job, complete manual and labour-intensive tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of chemical safety and basic computer skills would be advantageous.
