Role overview

At Soho House & Co, the Waste Collector helps keep the site clean, safe, and sanitary for members, guests, and team members. The position involves gathering, separating, and removing waste while following company standards, sustainability goals, and health and safety requirements.

This is a practical, hands-on position for someone who is dependable, detail-focused, and proactive about maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather and remove general, recyclable, and hazardous waste in line with company procedures and local regulations.
  • Separate waste correctly to help recycling and sustainability efforts.
  • Keep waste points, bins, storage areas, and collection spaces clean and orderly.
  • Help clean and maintain waste-handling equipment and vehicles.
  • Escalate problems such as overflowing bins, poor storage conditions, or potential health risks to a supervisor without delay.
  • Work safely in accordance with health and safety rules when handling, moving, and disposing of waste.
  • Assist other departments with occasional cleaning or waste-related support tasks as needed.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have up to 2 years of experience in a busy, high-profile environment and will bring a strong service mindset. The role suits someone who is friendly, reliable, and ready to contribute positively to the wider team.

  • Prior experience in waste collection, cleaning, or facilities work is preferred.
  • Good understanding of recycling, sustainability, and safe waste-handling methods.
  • Able to take instructions and work well both independently and with others.
  • Physically capable of carrying out manual tasks safely.
  • Dependable, punctual, and thorough.
  • Able to understand and act on both spoken and written instructions.

Additional information

Pay range in the UK: £14.50 per hour. Pay may differ in other locations based on local market conditions.
