Wash Attendant (Laundry Attendant)

Role overview

This position is part of the housekeeping and laundry team at W Hotels in Riyadh. The role focuses on operating laundry equipment, handling cleaned items properly, and supporting smooth day-to-day laundry operations in line with brand standards.

Core duties

• Run and oversee washing, dry-cleaning, and drying machines, including adding the required chemicals and cleaning lint filters.
• Check garments and linens for stains or damage and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, another wash cycle, or disposal.
• Review items after laundering to confirm cleanliness and place them into clean linen carts.
• Adjust dryer settings according to the fabric type and load requirements.
• Clear lint, debris, and residue from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
• Fold laundered items into the correct size by hand or with a folding machine.
• Keep accurate documentation of all laundered items.

Work standards and physical requirements

• Follow company safety, security, and operational procedures at all times.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager without delay and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect confidential company information and assets.
• Build positive working relationships, cooperate with team members, and help the team achieve shared goals.
• Meet quality standards and contribute ideas that improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, or cost savings.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects.
• Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods or an entire shift.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Work in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, and stair-access areas, including service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, and perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

No high school diploma or GED is required. No prior work experience is needed, and there is no supervisory experience requirement. No license or certification is required for this role.
