Role Overview
The company is hiring a licensed insurance agent to help people understand and navigate Medicare. The role involves explaining Medicare plan options, including Parts C and D, Med Supp/Medigap, and related ancillary products, then guiding clients toward the plans that fit their needs. You will also support enrollment activity and plan-to-plan transitions.
Responsibilities
- Explain Medicare benefits and available coverage choices to clients.
- Support clients through enrollment and switching between plans.
- Compare plan options and suggest appropriate recommendations.
- Work within Medicare rules, compliance requirements, and deadlines.
- Handle both incoming and outgoing calls in a fast-paced sales setting while staying professional and accurate.
- Keep records and documentation complete and up to date.
- Deliver strong customer support by answering questions and helping resolve concerns.
Minimum Qualifications
- A valid health insurance license is required.
- If the candidate is or was appointed with another organization, they must be able to provide proof of release or intent to release.
- Current AHIP certification for the plan year is required.
- Working knowledge of sales and the ability to drive revenue are necessary.
- The candidate must be able to contract and become RTS (ready to sell) with multiple carriers: either three major MAPD carriers or two major MAPD carriers plus one approved secondary carrier.
- Main MAPD carriers include United Healthcare, Humana, and Aetna.
- Approved secondary carriers include Cigna, Anthem, Wellcare, Zing, and Devoted.
- Comfort with a metrics-based environment and sales performance expectations is important.
- Ability to follow CMS federal regulations is required.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities are needed.
- The applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
